5 Hairstyles You Wouldn’t Believe Were #TRENDING!

Not all trending hairstyles were great. It’s safe to say that some of them shouldn’t be trending in the first place. These are 5 hairstyles that were once on trend. What do you think—should these hairstyles be brought back?

#1 Granny Hair Colour

While those in their fifties attempt to cover up their grey hair with any other hair colour in the market, there are those who purposefully dye their hair grey. This is known as the granny hair colour. And though it might work for some individuals, it is one hair colour we don’t have to rush into—take your time to contemplate and soon, nature will run its course.

#2 Wet Hair Look

The wet hair look was first seen at the 2018 New York Fashion Week. Models with hairstyles designed by Jason Wu stalked the runway with wet, sleek hair—the look we all embrace the moment we step out of the shower, or when we find ourselves without an umbrella on a rainy day.

#3 Liberty Spikes

Did you ever have spiky hair in secondary school? The Liberty Spikes, coined after the Statue of Liberty, takes spiky hair to a whole new level. The long, thick, and upright spikes require the strongest hair gel known to men. So if you can’t seem to find a hair gel to keep your hair in place, you might want to speak to someone who can successfully pull the look off.

#4 The Mullet

The mullet was trending in the 80s and popularised in the 90s by The Beastie Boys. A short cut in the front and the sides but long at the back, it is certainly a hairstyle we do not see as often. And perhaps, that’s a good thing as many would agree that a mullet should never return as a trend—a style best kept in the past.

#5 Emo & Overgrown

This is perhaps the least unbelievable of them all as most would go through a nostalgic phase of emo and overgrown hair. Simply look back at your yearbook and you’ll find a friend—if not you—with a fringe almost poking the eyes. As memorable as those days were, so was this hairstyle trend.

Hoping to get a new hairdo?

We would advise against the five above. Instead, drop by one of our professional hair salons at the Curve for a style that is trending at this moment. Rest assured, they do not do any of the hairstyles above.
